Simple & Easy Idea for Dinner – Change it Up!
Onion soup mix chicken was a creation I made with time saving in mind!I am always getting creative with supper – it’s a daily way I can express my creativity. I also am a sucker for recipes I can create easily for those days I just don’t have the time, or energy to cook.
On one of those energy lacking days I decided to take a package of Lipton onion soup mix and make dinner time simple!
Ingredients for this Onion Soup Chicken Recipe
The ingredient list is easy (and short!).
- two boneless chicken breasts
- package of onion soup mix
- spices (of your choice)
- water
- tbsp of flour
You will need a pan, a baking dish, bowl, whisk and tongs for utensils.
Tips for this Onion Soup Chicken Recipe
Here’s a few tips to keep in mind for this recipe.
- Use a smaller baking dish. Something that you can pour the soup mix into and have the chicken fully covered. I usually use a glass bread pan.
- Keep the side dishes simple too – why not try our bacon ranch macaroni salad.

Ingredients
- two boneless chicken breasts
- package of onion soup mix
- spices (of your choice)
- water
- flour
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix your spices with the a few tbsp of flour. Heat your pan on high while you do this.
- Coat each piece of chicken with the flour mixture and place them in the pan.
- Sear each side of the chicken.
- Mix your package of onion soup mix with two cups of warm water.
- Pour a small amount on the bottom of the baking dish, then place in your chicken.
- Pour the remainder of the onion soup mix into the baking dish, covering the chicken.
- Place it in the oven for 30 - 40 minutes (until your chicken is cooked).
- Once it is cooked, let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Place the chicken on each plate and add a tbsp of flour to the onion soup mix to thicken it slightly.
- Pour some of the onion soup mix on your chicken (just like a gravy)
